Meet Pete Larking
Functional Qigong Neurology was created by Pete Larking through more than 25 years of study, clinical practice, and teaching within Qigong, Chinese medicine, movement therapy, and functional neurology.
Pete’s journey began with a deep interest in self-cultivation practices and a simple question that emerged during intensive Qigong training in his early twenties:
“What is Qigong doing to the brain and nervous system?”
That question led him on a decades-long exploration into both traditional Chinese medicine and modern neuroscience.
Over the years, Pete has completed formal training in:
• Qigong
• Tuina manual therapy
• Taijiquan
• Biomedical sciences
• Acupuncture and Chinese medicine
• Functional neurology and bioelectric medicine
He is a former lecturer at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture, where he taught:
• biomedical sciences
• neurological anatomy
• Chinese medical theory
• Tuina
• Qigong
• Taijiquan
• Advanced acupuncture systems
Pete is also the co-founder and Medical Director of Neuromedtec, where he integrates movement therapy, breath regulation, acupuncture, electrotherapy, and nervous system rehabilitation approaches within clinical practice.
His work focuses on bridging traditional Qigong and Chinese medicine with a modern understanding of:
• nervous system regulation
• posture and movement
• breath physiology
• pain science
• autonomic function
• neuroplasticity
Through Functional Qigong Neurology, Pete’s goal is to make these practices practical, accessible, and clinically relevant for both the general public and healthcare practitioners.
This community was created to help people better understand how posture, breath, awareness, and movement may support long-term health, resilience, recovery, and nervous system regulation.
What if I miss a live session?
Do I need prior Qigong experience?
Can I practise at my own pace?
What’s included in the membership?
How do I access the lessons?
How much time do I need each week?
Can I cancel anytime?
Is this for practitioners or the general public?

Testimony
"The knowledge gained from training with Pete has been profound! Reconstructing ancient Qigong practices into contemporary neuroscience is Pete Larking's passion, and his level of knowledge shines through I his teachings. I learned why a practice like Qigong is so essential for navigating through life, and through the health related concerns that we all have to deal with at some point. A solid knowledge of how the brain and nervous system responds to Qigong movements gives the practitioner a better perspective of what is going on in the body/mind, and I can't recommend these teaching enough for anybody wishing to deepen their knowledge and achieve self mastery."
